Head & Skull :
Skull large and
square viewed from any angle, and folds when he is
interested but not at rest. The size of the skull may equal
centimeters measured as the height of the withers. The skull
should be wide and deep with well filled cheeks. Pronounced
stop.Muzzle short. The distance from tip of nose to stop is
approximately one third of the nose to occiput. Broad under
the eyes. The nose is broad to the end at the tip. The
muzzle is blunt and square and forms a right angle with the
line across the nose. The mass of the muzzle must be
consistent with the mass of the skull. The jaw should be
wide until the end. The nose should be broad with nostrils
wide open. The nose is flat, neither pointed nor turned up.
Lips not pendulous, never below the bottom of the mandible.
Eyes :
Dark or hazel, and of medium size, as far apart as the width
of the nose between the eyes and a quarry. Light or yellow
eyes highly undesirable.
Ears :
V-shaped folded back. Set wide apart and turned to give the
top of the skull a square appearance, which is very
important. The ears are small and darker than the color of
the body. The tip of the ear at the height of the eye when
the dog is alert. Rose-ear is highly undesirable.
Mouth and teeth :
Denture preferably bite, slight undershot is allowed but not
preferred. Developed canines large and far apart. Other
teeth strong, straight and well placed.
Neck :
Well arched and of medium length, very muscular and almost
the same circumference as the size of the skull.
Forequarters :
Chest broad and deep, well placed between the legs with a
deep front chest.Shoulders muscular, sloping and powerful,
but not loaded. For strong legs and straight with heavy bone.
Well apart so that a strong legal front. Strong and straight
pasterns.
Body :
Back short and straight, what the dog is a compact
impression, but never so short that it is annoying to the
movement. Carp Backs sagging backs highly undesirable.
Backquarters :
The loins are broad and muscular with deep flanks properly.
Hind legs strong and muscular with well developed thighs
that give strength and agility. Never rude. Hocks moderately
bent. Cow hocked is highly undesirable.
Feet :
Well arched toes (catfeet) with hard pads. Dark toenails
desirable. Splayed highly undesirable.
Tail :
High set-wide at base, and tapering to the hock. He is
hanging straight or slightly curved, but never so far on the
back or as high as with hounds. Kinked or twisted tails
highly undesirable.
Movement :
The movement shows strength and determination radiates out.
If the dog runs right front nor hind legs should cross. The
right front and left hind leg is simultaneously driven. Good
topline combined with a powerful hind a good balance and a
harmonious movement.
Coat :
Short and hard, weather resistant, lying flat. Long, silky
or woolly coat highly undesirable.
Color :
lAny shade of brindle, sand or red. The color is pure. A
small white marking on chest permissible. Other white
markings undesirable. A black muzzle is essential, going up
to reach and black around the eyes. This gives the typical
expression.
Height :
Males : 63,5 cm tot 68,5 cm
Females : 61 cm tot 66 cm.
Weight :
Males : 49,9 kg. tot 59 kg.
Females : 41 kg. tot 49,9 kg.
Faults :
lAny deviation from the foregoing points should be seen as
wrong. The value of that error, relative to the total
charged. Two males have undescended testicles and visible in
the scrotum.
